Minor Peewee Select 2018-2019
Welcome to the 2018-2019 hockey season!  Our goal for the minor peewee select team is to have fun while we develop hockey skills both as individual players and together as a team.  The information below is meant to provide details for the upcoming select season and to guide you through the tryout process.

In addition to the house league schedule, the select team will have approximately 20 practices, play 20 exhibition games with local select teams, and attend 3 tournaments during the season.   We are planning on the following tournaments:

Halton Hills Winter Classic, December 7-9, 2018

Bradford Blue and Gold, January 18-20, 2019

Alliance Select Tournament, Brantford April 5-8, 2019

Our allotted time this season is generally Sundays at 6pm at Albert McCormick.  The calendar will be revised throughout the season as practices are added and exhibition games are scheduled with other teams.  Additional practices will be booked as ice times become available.  These will generally be weekdays at 6:30 am or at various times during the evening.

Please see the team calendar for tryout times and make sure your child is registered.  If you are not on the registration list at the tryout date, you will not be permitted on the ice.  Contact the WMHA office to confirm you are registered if you are not certain.

At the tryouts, we will be looking for energetic players who demonstrate effort, skating ability, and hockey sense.  Shortly after each tryout ice time, a list of players who are invited back for the next tryout session will be listed on the team website.  If your child’s name/pinnie number is not on the list, they have been released for the remainder of the tryouts and we wish them all the best with their house league season.

We will be choosing 2 goalies, 15 skaters, and 2-3 alternate players who will be contacted separately after the tryouts.  The alternates will be invited to all the practices and will replace rostered players who are unavailable to attend games.  Once the select team has been chosen, there will be a parent meeting scheduled to discuss the upcoming season.

If you have any questions regarding the tryout process or the season ahead, please send me an email through the link on the select coaches page at

Thanks for your interest in the minor peewee select team and I look forward to seeing everyone at tryouts!
