MD Peewee White put up the good "fight"
Waterloo lost in the 3rd round of a rare Friday night fight as they lost the split decision 5 to 2.

Waterloo stepped into the rings having the eye of the tiger look after earning a point last Sunday. The teams squared off in a spirited back and forth affair. It was the long reach of Waterloo's Enoch Banjo as his punch landed squarely on the beak of the Hawks. 1 hit to none. Cambridge landed a lucky blind jab to the head making it 1 - 1 after the first round.

Before the second round, the legendary and 3 time world boxing champion, Ironman Mike MacKinnon visited Waterloo's corner for an inspirational ear chewing speach. Early in the second round, the refs broke up a battle in Waterloo's corner. On the ensuing break, Cambridge came back with another quick jab making it 2 - 1 for Cambridge.

Mid-way through the 3rd round, Cambridge came across the ring with a one - two punch landing two more points making it 4 - 1. The Rocky Balboa of the team, little Keelan Ropp got in close to the body of Cambridge and went to work with several blows before jabbing one into the kidney of the hawks making it 4 - 2. Cambridge delivered the final knockout blow late in the period to make it a 5 - 2 decision.

Nice tilt boys, keep driving hard at your opponents, keep your feet moving forward at all times  and never back away.

Good luck in the rematch against Brantford 99ers on Sunday
