Tough Times Never Last but Tough People Do
Christmas not only brought the MD Gold Team great gifts and
much needed downtime with family and friends, savvy Santa also ensured the
Wolves would face some stiff competition in 2019.
The boys faced some intense competition right out of the gate facing the tough 99er squad, who proved not to be on Santa's naughty list with a 6-1 win over the Wolves.
The very next day, Waterloo pulled up their socks, and strapped on their skates to take on Hamilton. The Wolves' great passing, fast skating, tough "D" and wicked shooting proved to be too much for the Huskies.
Coming off their glorious 6-3 victory, the Wolves headed to Cambridge with "fight and grit" to take the "W" away from their competitors. Unfortunately, the Hawks proved too hard to tame, handing the boys their second loss in January (2-4).
The Wolves have stepped up their training in the last couple of weeks with extra skating and shooting in a tactical move to take on the league's first place team on Sunday afternoon; with home ice advantage, Waterloo's MD Gold faces Kitchener's Jr. Rangers Red this coming weekend.
