Bantams Win Three Rivers Series Tournament
On the weekend the Bantam AA/A team traveled to Pittsburgh to take part in the Three Rivers Hockey Series Tournament in the A/AA U14 Division.

The first 2 games saw the Wolves play a significant amount of time shorthanded, resulting in a close win against Mon Valley AA and a 1 goal loss against the Southpoint Capitals. Game 3 was a different story. Much more disciplined, the Wolves played their most complete game of the season with a 5-0 win against the Glen Ellyn Admirals. The final was a rematch against Southpoint, with the boys confident that a more disciplined approach would produce a different result. The game was tied after regulation and the teams went to 4 on 4 overtime. We got the expected result when Adam Steffen fired a shot past their goaltender with just under a minute left in OT.

A total team effort for the entire tournament was the key. Our penalty killing was stellar allowing 1 power play goal along the way. Balanced scoring, with 9 different players finding the back of the net, sound defensive play and solid goaltending resulted in a Championship. Lessons were learned and will be carried forward through the season as we get back to league play.

Congrats on a great weekend boys!
