Wolves take charge of the Chargers, open season with huge W!
The Waterloo Minor Bantam Black Wolves opened the season on a high note, taking down the Acton Chargers 3-1 Saturday night.

Both teams took the ice in the first with lot’s of energy at both ends of the rink, but great goaltending from the Chargers and Waterloo's own Liam Doherty kept the score at 0-0 in the first. New linemates playing together for the first time led to lot’s of great chances for the Wolves, but also some mistakes and the Chargers capitalized late in the second making the score 1-0 at the end of two. The Wolves rallied in the third with Brendan Rai setting up Will Leather off the face-off for the team’s first goal of the season. Sam Siopiolsz followed the rally with a nice goal of his own, after a strong individual effort and pass from Makhaya Campbell, putting the Wolves up 2-1 late in the third. Acton pressed hard to equalize, but Wolves goaltender Sam Chilton was strong, making stop after stop to keep the lead. Nathan Infanti potted an empty netter to finish the game, and give the Wolves their first W of the season after an unbelievable come from behind team effort.

Final score: Waterloo Wolves - 3, Acton Chargers - 1.
