Major Peewee Wolves extend Win Streak to 3 – undefeated streak to 5.
The
Major Peewee Wolves came out hungry on Saturday night in front of their
boisterous fans at Albert McCormick. With all three lines clicking the Wolves
took control of the game early, peppering shots on Halton’s goal.
If not for some spectacular goaltending and a few unlucky bounces the Wolves would have jumped out to an early lead. Instead they found themselves locked in a scoreless game until early into the second, when J.S. was able to find a loose puck amongst a bunch of skates in front of the net and bury it behind a sprawling goalie. Early in the third M.G. ripped a wrist shot from the hash marks, beating the goalie high blocker side. Wolves take a commanding 2-0 lead. Not for long – 30 seconds to be precise. Halton roared back, sustain pressure in Waterloo’s end, eventually scoring from the high slot. The game continued back and forth, with Halton trying to push for tying goal but our Wolves standing strong on D and countering with numerous chances of their own. With 3 minutes left on the third A.L. sprinted through Halton’s D and buried a beauty low just out of the goalies reach. Waterloo continued to pour on the pressure resulting in a goal by S.B. from set up by a swarming forecheck.
The Major Peewee Wolves continue to play strong team defense, supported by strong play by both goalies. As 2018 rolls on, the Wolves are really starting to move the puck and generate more and more scoring chances.
The coaches are looking forward to the continued development of the team and to see what the pack can do the rest of the season.
All Out!
All Game.
