Waterloo Wolves Minor Peewee Select Tryouts
Tryouts are just around the corner...

Parents, please see the information below on how the tryouts will be run this year along with some information in regards to the upcoming season.

The 3 try-out times are as follows:

Saturday, September 30th           6:00-7:00pm Albert McCormick (East)
Sunday, October 1st                    5:30-6:30pm Albert McCormick (West)
Friday, October 6th                     7:00-8:00pm Albert McCormick (East)

Player Selection:

We will be looking for players who are willing to bring their hockey skills to the rink, utilizing their strong work ethic and a desire to grow as not only a player but also as a teammate. A commitment to respect and sportsmanship will be required whether on or off the ice.

Releases:

We understand that this can be a very stressful time for both the players and their parents. We ask that you respect the process and the decisions made by the staff on team selection.

Releases through-out the 1st two tryouts will be done via our team website. Releases after the 3rd tryout will be done in person with a member of the coaching staff.

We ask that you please wait for 24 hours prior to contacting us with any questions after the final tryout. We will be happy to provide feedback after the 24 hours has passed.

During final releases, some players may be asked to be an AP player with the team. AP players will be provided opportunities through-out the season to practice and/or play games with the team. Depending on the costs of the additional practice times, a player may be asked to help fund the cost of that ice.

Upcoming Season:

Our home ice-time is generally Sundays at 6pm at Albert East.
Regular season games are now being scheduled and will be posted on our team calendar shortly.
We hope to schedule 16 regular season games total including both home and away.
We will be looking to purchase additional ice for practices outside of our regularly scheduled ice time.

Tournaments:

We have been accepted into the Dan Pulham Tournament in London. This runs December 1-3, 2017.
We are currently looking at an overnight tournament in February. Details to follow.
We will also have the year end Alliance Championships in Brantford running from April 5-8, 2018.

Budget:

To be determined.

Dress Code:

The Dress Code this year will include a shirt and tie for all players and coaching staff. Baseball caps during games will not be permitted. Black jeans will be acceptable but chinos are preferred.

If you have any questions in regards to the try-out process or the upcoming season, please do not hesitate to send me an email at [email protected].

Respectfully Submitted,
