MD - Minor Peewee Battle of Waterloo Cup 2018

The Waterloo Cup stays in Waterloo as Waterloo successfully defended their title by downing Waterloo 4 - 1 in a thrilling and spirited tilt at Albert McCormick arena.

Waterloo fans went crazy when Waterloo stepped on the ice. This is considered to be the World Minor Peewee Junior gold medal match. It seemed that every time Waterloo scored, the fans erupted.

Waterloo jumped out to a quick, early lead as a dipsy, doodle, dangle move found the puck in the back of the net giving Waterloo a 1 - 0 lead. It did not take long before Waterloo made it 2 - 0 as a juicy rebound made it's way onto a wingers stick giving Waterloo a two goal lead.

Mid way thru the second period, Waterloo rushed up the ice and made it 3 - 0 as the puck slid under the pads of the goalie. Waterloo gave up a goal as Waterloo netted a power play goal edging closer to a tie.

That would be a close as Waterloo would get as Waterloo shut the door on itself mid way through the third period giving Waterloo the 4 - 1 victory.

In a post game interview, the Waterloo coach said "there is a lot of pressure to keep the undefeated streak alive. No one wants to be the first to lose the cup to a non Waterloo team."

Great game Waterloo.
