Off to the Finals!
The Wolves have been playing in the 2017 MD Challenge Cup in Burlington this weekend.
On Friday the Wolves played against the Burlington White team. It was a very close game, but some strong goaltending and defense got the Wolves a 1-0 win.
Saturday morning we played against Burlington Red. The Wolves looked sluggish and were out skated and out worked. The result was a 5-2 loss.
Saturday afternoon's game was against Burlington SL. It was a game that the Wolves needed to win or be eliminated from the tournament. The SL team had beat the Red team by a score of 5-1 earlier in the tournament, so it wasn't going to be an easy game. The Wolves showed up to play! With an excellent team effort and some amazing passes the Wolves skated to a 4-2 victory. This win moved the Wolves into first place in the round robin and earned them a bye to the championship game on Sunday.
In the semi-final game, Burlington Red defeated Burlington White, 4-1.
