Atom White in Bradford Blue & Gold Tournament
The Atom White Wolves travelled to Bradford this weekend to participate in their first tournament of the year.

In their first game on Friday morning the Wolves faced the Milton Winterhawks and came up with a very convincing 7-1 win.

Friday afternoon's game matched the Wolves against the Oakville Rangers. The Wolves were a little tired and came up short losing to their opponents, 6-1.

After a little swimming, team bonding and good night's sleep the Wolves were refreshed and defeated the Richmond Hill Stars 3-0, in their first game on Saturday morning.  This win earned them a 3rd place position and a spot in the semi-final game.

The Wolves did an amazing job of representing Waterloo while out at a team lunch.  The restaurant manager commented that they had served several hockey teams in the last couple of days and the Wolves were the best behaved team they had seen!

Saturday afternoon's semi-final found the Wolves playing the 2nd place Caledon Hawks.  In a very close and well played game the Wolves came out on top with a 3-1 victory. This earned them a spot in the championship game on Sunday.

The Wolves faced the Richmond Hill Stars for the gold medal.  Waterloo opened the scoring, but Richmond Hill answered back to tie it up at 1.  The Wolves skated hard and took the lead for the second time in the game.  Again the Stars battled back to tie up the game.  A great shot late in the third period beat the Star's goalie but rang off the post. With just under a minute remaining in regulation time, the Stars managed to get a lucky bounce off a skate to take the lead for the first time in the game.  With the goalie pulled, the Wolves battled hard with an extra attacker, but were unable to tie it up and were awarded the Silver Medal.

The Wolves grew as a team and impressed their coaches with some very well-played hockey!  Be proud of your weekend accomplishments!
