The
young Wolves played the older Brantford 99ers and fought hard in a tough loss
The Wolves played tough with the Bean-town bullies with several chances and great defensive plays. With Reider holding the boys in the game with great goaltending at the Wolves end, the boys could not squeak one past the 99ers goalie except Kropfy and Couzy who were the lone goal scorers in the game for the Wolves.
The game was played at the Gretzky Centre that has the essence of greatness and the stench of playoff hockey. Like the great one, who had the support of one of the most famous hockey dad’s in the game, our Wolves hockey parents, like a good bottle of Chianti, have shown our age at times… but with age comes a well-rounded, acquired flavor, with a touch of full bodied…boldness, with a hint of cowbell!
Regardless of the outcome of these playoffs, we are incredibly proud of our boys and forever in debt to all the parents and coaches who make the sacrifice to build our boys into men…this will be a season that we will never forget.
We set to win the next game, and with that, we will come out as a tribe or Pack of rabid Wolves!
Battle two will be in our barn with a 7pm, primetime start….Waterloo Pride!
