Novice MD Red face tough competition over the weekend and come out with 1 of 4 points
The young Wolves struggled in each of the opening frames of the games but finished hard in the 3rd periods

Saturday night tilt, against a revved-up Cambridge Hawks White team.  The young Wolves found themselves down 2-0 after the first period and quickly down 6-0 after the second period.  The third period showed promise, with the Wolves going on a power play and capitalizing with Jonesy going bar down.  The Hawks countered with their 7th goal of the game to put them up 7-1.  The Wolves fought and owned the ice for the remainder of the game with Jonesy, Kropfy and Nater adding singles to make it a 7-4 game.  Fortunately for the Hawks, the buzzer rang to end the game.

The Sunday matinee game against the big Brantford 2 team, was a battle from the beginning.  The young Wolves came out tough but could not contain the big Brantford team in the first two periods of the game.  The 99ers went up quick to a 4-0 lead going into the third.  The coaches knew they had to do something different and switched up the lines and defense.  This got the young Wolves going strong.  The 99ers were awarded a penalty shot and Reider stood his ground and turned away the Brantford dipsy doodler and gave the boys a chance.  Back on D, The Fiddler made an uncanny rush from behind his net up the ice to get the puck in deep with Fitzy, Tias and Hutty also holding the backend strong.  This got Jonesy, Nater and Kinger firing in goals, closing the gap with a goal apiece.  These came from great assists from Monty, Cruicksy, Couzy, Pax Attack and Dre to make it a 4-3 score for Brantford.  In the dying seconds of the period and with 30 seconds left, the Wolves net empty and the extra attacker on, Monty ripped in a blazing shot to tie the game.  It was a spirited game with strong contributions from all.

The Wolves look to regroup and prepare for a strong Burlington Bulldogs team Saturday and some team building on Sunday.
