Novice MD Red bounced back with a vengeance Sunday afternoon
The young Wolves came to play with a ton of grit and determination against a solid Cambridge Hawks team.

With something to prove from the last time these two teams met and after Saturday’s tilt with Woodstock, the boys came out flying as did a strong Cambridge Team.  The boys were missing Pax Attack due to sickness so they wanted to pull one out for him.

The first period consisted of some great puck movement and strong defense through our neutral zone and back end.  The forwards supported the D and Rowe made several great saves including one breakaway to hold the first period scoreless.

The second period’s pace picked up with Cambridge opening the scoring to make it 1-0.  The Wolves answered back with Nater on a mission and potting two right after another.  The game got chippy with some tough play but the boys kept playing the game hard.  Couz out hustled the Cambridge team and potted a shorty making it 3-1. Cambridge answering back to keep it within one.  Jonesy with an extra giddy up in his step, rifled two more into the twine.

Reider came in off the bench to make several saves late into the second and shutting the fired-up Cambridge team to nothing more.  Couz continued to fly from end to end with another, to make it two on the game with Jonesy potting two more howitzers and played tough all night.

All the Wolves contributed with and without the puck.  Great support, grit and speed!

The Wolves hit the practice ice and weight rooms this week to get ready for the Hamilton Huskies and Burlington Bulldogs next weekend.
