Regional Silver Stick Champs
Novice Gold takes gold at the Northumberland Regional Silver Stick Tournament and qualify for the International Silver Stick Finals.

The journey to the International Silver Stick Finals started early Friday morning as the Wolves battled 401 traffic to get to Cobourg for a noon match up with Peterborough.  The Petes would keep it close for the first period, but the Wolves took control in the second and never looked back.  The coaches would reveal the Wolf Pack 3 stars after the game, with courageous Cam M., pinching Matty P., and down-low Emre A. earning the initial three Wolf hats.

After a "refreshing" drive to the Wolves Den in Trenton, the Novice Gold returned to Cobourg to face a solid Nepean team.  The Raiders would hang tough for two periods, but the Wolves would stretch their lead to 3-0 at the beginning of the third and not look back.   After the game, "the magic man" Rohan J., warrior Wyatt M., and scrappy Gavin S. formed the Wolf Pack

For the final round robin game the Wolves left their Trenton Den and headed to Bewdley for a showdown with the Kanata Blazers.  The Blazers came out and challenged the Wolves with a run and gun style.  While this did result in the Blazers ending the Wolves tournament shut out streak, Novice Gold would more tha return the favour.  When the dust settled, the Wolves had earned top seed and "the hammer" Liam M., "top-shelf" Liam C., and relentless Ryder H. were all smiles in their Wolf hats.

Early Sunday morning, the Wolves would leave their Trenton Den one more time and overpower the Cumberland Jr. Grads on the Olympic size JackBurg ice surface.  In an ugly game with a lopsided score and some chippy play the  Wolves punched their ticket to the finals in a no-contest.  The Wolf hats went to galloping Grayson S., lustrous Lucas P., and grapplin' Grayson P.

The finals would see a Region of Waterloo battle as the Wolves would face the New Hamburg Huskies.  Under a hungry Wolves fore-check for most of the first period, the Huskies would bend but not break and only allow one goal against.  In the second, the Wolves would pounce on two juicy rebounds to stretch the lead to 3-0, but some sloppy play at the end of the third allowed New Hamburg to get on the board 3-1.  Gaining some momentum the Huskies would push back in the third with some sustained pressure.   The Wolves would hold finally restore the 3 goal lead with 3 minutes left, and then hold on for the win.  The goal-tending tandem of steely Ty B. and battleaxe Boyd S. would raise the championship banner, and freight train Colten T., handsome Hunter C., and blazing Mike B. formed the Wolf Pack.
