Wolves Punch Ticket to the Final Four
Fantastic team play culminates in two shutout weekend

The Novice MD Black Wolves rolled into Kitchener to take the the Jr. Rangers (Blue) on Saturday. The Rangers were only four points behind the Wolves for the fourth and final playdown spot. The play went back and forth - you could feel the tension in the air at the Activa Sportsplex. Midway through the third period, Josh H. won an offensive draw right into the top corner of the net and the Wolves were up. But the Rangers just kept coming. The Wolves defensive corps stood tall and just kept getting pucks out of the zone. With time winding down, Maguire K. made several game savers including a glove save that was out of this world! Final score - Wolves 1 - Rangers Blue 0. Congratulations to Josh H. who earned the hard hat award!

On Sunday, the Wolves had a chance to clinch a playdown berth with a win over the first place Woodstock Jr. Navy Vets. The boys were ready to go and came out hungry - Josh H. opened the scoring after converting a Hunter M. rebound. In the second period, Preston M. beat the Navy Vets goalie high on the blocker side to put the home side up 2-0. But the clincher in the third came from fan favourite Bennett G. with a boomer from the point that found its way in. Joel V. added the insurance and the defensive corps shut it down again along with stellar play from Daniel L. in net. Congratulations to the whole team for this great achievement and especially to Matthew B. who won the hard hat award!
