Atom A/AA Wolves are Best of the Best Champions
Atom A/AA Wolves win the Halton Hills Best of the Best Tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.

Friday the Wolves took on the Burlington Eagles. It was a close game as the teams were tied at 0 after the first period. The Wolves finally found the back of the net in the second period taking a 1-0 lead into the third. The third period saw the Wolves find the back of the net 3 more times for a 4-0 win only allowing 5 shots by the Burlington Team.
As Friday morning was the only game the team got together for some team building time back at home. After a team building assignment that had the team decide their own commitment to each other we headed in for some video review, a movie and most importantly some Pizza!!

Saturday morning was another early morning game. The Wolves faced the Southpoint Capitals in what would turn out to be a badly one sided game with the Wolves outshooting their opponent 33-4 with a final score of 13-0.

Saturday evening the Wolves faced the Brampton 45's in the final round robin game. Again the Wolves found the net early and took off for what again was a one sided game. Once again they outshot 24-4 with a final score of 6-0.

Heading into the quarter final crossover game the Wolves were the only undefeated team and the only team that did not allow a goal. In this contest the team faced the Riverside Rangers. Once again the team was rolling outshooting the Rangers 24-7. The game ended with the Wolves one again not allowing any goals and finding the back of the net 6 times in the third early morning game in as many days.

The semi final game faced the Wolves off with the home town Halton Hills Thunder. For the first time the Wolves gave up a goal early in the first as the home town team scored on the first shift. The Wolves for the first time found themselves trailing. Midway into the first the Wolves got on the board tying the game at 1. The second period was back and forth with neither team able to capitalize until the Wolves scored with 25 sec on the clock to take the lead. Once again the Wolves gave up a goal on the opening shift of the period. With the game now tied at 2 and the home town team with all the energy the Wolves were in for a battle. Once again with under a minute left on the clock the Wolves found the back of the net to take the 3-2 lead that would be the final. The Wolves were off to the final.

The final game would now be the third game of the day. The wolves found themselves facing a familiar foe in the Burlington Eagles. The Wolves got off to an early lead scoring just minutes into the first period. That would be all the scoring in the first that had both teams keeping the other tight in check. It was clear to everyone that both teams were tired and fighting to keep the energy level up. The second period saw the Eagles tie the game at 1 mid way into the period. This second period saw a lot more action around the nets. the Goalies at both ends of the ice had to be sharp. The third period was more of the same tight checking by the Wolves giving up few chances but getting more themselves. With 1:44 left the Wolves finally beat the Eagles goalie to take the 2-1 lead. With just over a minute left in the game and a faceoff in the Eagles end the Wolves never let them out to pull the goalie. The wolves kept almost kept full control for the remaining time. Every chance the Eagles had to get the puck out was stopped by a strong defensive effort and the puck was put back into the corner and kept there.

CONGRATULATIONS WOLVES!!!!!
A great way to start a season and in the end "it's worth the drive to Acton"
