Minor Midget MD - Tryout Information
With team tryouts starting shortly, it is time to share some important information about our tryout process.

Evaluations

We will have independent coaches to help evaluate both players and goalies during our tryout process. The evaluators we have helping are all very experienced with no ties to the team. They, along with the coaching staff, will make joint decisions on players moving forward and those who will be released.

Releases

We will be using the team portion of the WMHA web site for all of our releases. All players and goalies will be asked to remember the pinnie or sweater number they are given at the sign in desk before each tryout.

Our first releases will happen September 12th after the game against Woolwich (NO RELEASES THE FIRST NIGHT). These releases will not be posted on our team web site until September 13th. Players who are required to dress/play in the game September 13th @ 6:30 in Woolwich will be identified in BOLD. We will not have any further releases until after the September 14th game against Cambridge. These releases will not be posted until September 15th.

We will post the names of the players who are required to play September 17th sometime in the afternoon on September 16th.

Final roster selection will be posted September 17th as soon after the game as possible.

Any player who is not asked to return can contact me if you are looking for feedback. We will set up a time to meet with myself and the coaching staff.

Exhibition Games

Players are asked to wear a dress shirt and black dress pants for all exhibition games. Players who are not playing in an exhibition game are asked to attend the game to support their team.

Home Games: All players are required to arrive 1 hour prior to the game and check in at the tryout desk.  Players and goalies who are not playing are not required to bring their equipment into the arena. We do ask, however, that you bring it and leave it in your car in case we need to make a last minute change due to an illness or injury.

Road Games: Again, players in the lineup are asked to arrive 1 hour prior to the game. Players not in the lineup are not required to attend, however, they are welcome to come and cheer.

Players who are not in the lineup for an exhibition game are asked to stay clear of the dressing room to allow those playing to focus on their game preparation.

Please keep in mind that the above is just an overview for you to follow along in the selection process. We may alter this plan based on other factors we are not aware of prior to us posting this information.
