Satruday Nov 5 Sharks Fun Day
Please get the boys to read this article so they are up to speed.

Hello All,

We are looking forward to our weekend of fun.

Just to make sure everyone gets it, Minor Bantam tournaments are hard to find.

There is one in Bradford but we have to stay in Vaughn and there seems to be a lot of driving back and forth to the rinks.

There is a tournament in London but I was there last year, we won the tournament but the final game was a bad experience.  If you have not heard that story get me to tell you at lunch or ask a parent who was on the team last year.

All that being said I do not want the boys to miss the positive experiences of the tournament.

The great thing about a hockey tournament is the boys get to know each other, make new friends, hang around with old friends, and the whole thing ends up like a three day birthday party.

So this weekend is my offering to the team in lieu of a tournament.

Here is some more information and what you can expect.

Saturday Morning we will all meet at 7:00AM in St. Jacobs.

The rink does not open until 6:55 AM.

The game is at 7:30 AM

We will play the Minor Bantam Kitchener Wild Cats.  It is a long story but, as it turns out we will have no referees so I will ref the game.  We will also have no time keeper unless someone wants to volunteer.(Hint Hint)  I can give you instruction. It is easy.

After the game we will go straight to Crossroads for a buffet breakfast.  Just like a tournament.

384 Arthur St S Elmira, Ontario

I have made arrangements for the boys to pay $5.00 for their breakfast.  The boys breakfast is already paid for. You can pay the $5.00 to Asma

After breakfast we will meet at Max’s for Bubble Soccer at 10:15

 http://www.maxsgolf.ca/

800 King Street North, Waterloo

We are scheduled for 10:45 – 11:45.  There will be waivers to fill out and sign and getting equipment on will take some time.

They want us there about half an hour early.  I am arranging this as a group.  I will pay Max’s.

The cost of the Bubble soccer is $10.00 / attendee payable to Asma

After Bubble Soccer we head straight to my house for a swim and pot luck lunch

The whole family is invited to our house for the afternoon.

81 Culpepper Dr. Waterloo.

Stay as long as you wish.

Then we will head to our game in Elora.

We play at 6:00 PM against Centre Wellington

Elora Community Centre

29 David Street West, Elora.

We are playing a Bantam team.  That means they will have players born in 2002 and 2003.

It will be a real challenge for our guys especially after all the fun that day.

We will have referees and a time keeper for this game.

Cost

We are asking for $23/player to cover the cost of two ice times, refs and timekeeper.

This should be a fun day for the boys and for the parents it will cost a total of $38.00

So to wrap up my summary here, we will have almost as much fun as a tournament with a pool, restaurant meals, team events, all for the price of $38.00 / player

Usually a tournament entry fee is $70.00 per player, plus hotels, gas, food, and something fun for the boys. It can easily cost over $350.00 - $400.00 for the weekend.

I think this is the right choice for a number of reasons, convenience and cost come to the top of my mind.  Alexander is a little upset that he won’t get to miss a day of school.  But I know the parents will be excited they will not have to rearrange their work schedules, and we can save a bit of money.

See you Saturday.
