This Weekend In Novice Gold Hockey Redux
"The highest compliment that you can pay me is to say that I work hard every day, that I never dog it." - Wayne Gretzky

A great weekend of Novice Gold hockey!

If you had the opportunity to catch the Novice Gold hockey team this weekend, you saw 17 boys work hard and never stopped in winning 2 big games over Burlington and Kitchener.

Saturday's action at AMCW had Novice Gold in a must win position to keep their playoff drive alive.  The boys put in a complete game holding off Burlington winning 6-0.

Sunday's early start at Kinsmen Arena vs. the 36-10-3 Kitchener Rangers was the biggest game of the playoff season.  A team we have yet to beat this year, Novice Gold came out strong in the first period taking the play to Kitchener.  A 0-0 score ending the first was not indicative of the play seeing Waterloo spend most of the period in the Kitchener end.

Waterloo continued their exceptional play in the second scoring 2 goals taking the lead into the 3rd period.  An early goal in the 3rd put the Rangers within 1.  A furious 3rd period by Kitchener could not get past our boys and Novice Gold prevailed 2-1.  A great game for the fans and a tremendous effort by the 17 boys of Novice Gold.

With the 2 wins this weekend, we now sit in second place with 3rd place Kitchener having 2 games in hand and 4th place Cambridge has 1.  We have secured a spot in the semi-finals.

And next weekends games see's a rematch with Kitchener at AMCW Friday night.  Sunday will have the Hamilton Huskies in town at AMCW.

Spread the word and invite supporters of the Wolves to cheer on our boys.

See you at the rink!
