The players, coaches and parents would like to congratulate Asst Coach Mike Moffat on his recent award from the OUA West Conference.
Coach Mike was awarded the Randy Gregg Award of Merit, which is presented annually by Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) to reward excellence in the student-athlete. The Canadian University ice hockey player who receives this award has exhibited outstanding achievement in ice hockey, academics, and community involvement.
The award is named in honour of Randy Gregg, a Canadian Olympian who played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League and became a physician after he retired.
Coach Mike won the OUA West Randy Gregg Award of Merit, while also being named a second-team all-star.
Moffat, 22, a former OHLer with the Kingston Frontenacs, volunteers with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and delivers backpacks with school supplies to less-fortunate local children.
He also serves as an assistant coach with the Waterloo Wolves Triple-A atom team.
