Neil Barker Classic MP White Div Champions
The Warriors travelled down the 401 to London this past weekend for the Neil Barker Classic Tournament. In their opening game they faced a tough London Bandits team,
however the boys played with real grit and determination defeating London 6-3. In our second game of the day we faced the Oakville Knights, coming out a little flat the warriors lost 4-1. After a night of relaxation and a load of Fun, the boys woke up ready to go. Great backchecking and outstanding defence limited their opponents to under 10 shots for the game, taking their 3rd game vs Port Credit 5-0 sent the warriors to the Semi-Finals. The Warriors would face the London Bandits once more, and once again the team worked hard, backchecking, pressing the puck, winning the battles along the boards and creating some great offence to win 5-1. Heading into Sunday for the Championship game the Warriors had built up a lot of nervous energy but were ready and anxious to play. It was a tense first few minutes in the first period and after a furious scramble in front of the net the Knights managed to get the first goal, but just as they had played all weekend long the Warriors worked hard and came back with a vengeance to tie it up within 30 seconds of the puck drop. They never looked back winning the game 5-3 and The Neil Barker Classic - Minor Peewee White Division Championship. Well done Warriors, very much deserved after a fantastic Team effort, you earned it.
