Weekend Wrap-Up Mar.7,8
Last weekend the Wolves took 2 of a possible 4 points, defeating Kitchener Red on the road before losing a close game to Hamilton White at home.

After beating Kitchener 5-1 in the previous meeting between the two teams, Kitchener was able to put up a much better fight.  Kitchener was able to control much of the play to begin the game, but strong goaltending by Chin kept the game scoreless through the end of the first period.

The team found a little bit of jump to start the second period, but once again were able to develop nothing offensively.  Kitchener was able to take advantage of one of their scoring chances however, scoring with just under three minutes remaining in the period.  Following the goal, the Wolves finally looked to find their legs.  The team was able to score thirty seven seconds later to tie the game heading into the third.

The team continued to pressure to start the third.  They were rewarded as the Wolves took their first lead of the game, scoring a little over five minutes into the period.  However, the lead was shorted lived as Kitchener battled hard to tie the game just under a minute later.  Not deterred, Waterloo continued to pressure in the offensive zone.  With three minutes remaining the team was able to score, once again taking a one goal lead.  The final few minutes were very tense, with scoring opportunities going both ways, but the Wolves held on for a 3-2 victory.

The following day the Wolves were set to play Hamilton White in a game with strong implications on home ice advantage.  Once again, the Wolves started the game off relatively slowly.  Hamilton would take advantage scoring two goals in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the second.

From there, the team gradually began to find their legs.  Goalie LaFlamme made a number of saves to keep the game within reach and the team finally had sustained pressure in the offensive zone, but the period would end with the score remaining 2-2.

The team continued to play better into the third.  They were able to score two minutes into the period, cutting into Hamilton's lead giving the team live.  With momentum in hand, the Wolves scored once again two minutes later.  With the game tied, both teams settled in for the remainder of the period.  Although Waterloo had chances to take the lead, they were unable to.  Unfortunately, Hamilton was able to score on one of their chances with four and a half minutes remaining.  The Wolves gave one last push with time winding down and the goalie pulled, but Hamilton was able to add an empty netter to take the game 4-2.
