Atom Ice Wolves Season Summry
The Atom Ice Wolves pushed hard to make the top tier for MD and landed in 6th place to start the playoff season. After a great run they fell short of the 4th place to continue into the playdowns by only 1 point.
The team is proud of their accomplishments this season and we summarize with "Great Teamwork."
“Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.” Henry Ford
This quote accurately reflects this season for the Atom Ice Wolves. They have learned that as a team you are stronger, more successful, and have more fun.
Read on for a Team Season Summary and the wonderful lessons they learned, and for a summary of why we call this season a success.

“Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success.” - Henry Ford
This quote accurately reflects this season for the Atom Ice Wolves. They have learned that as a team you are stronger, more successful, and have more fun.

Coming Together
– September  and October In the first part of the season the boys and coaching staff were devoted to coming together as a team. The Social committee made excellent plans for the boys to get to know each other and the coaches created excellent tournament opportunities early. The first tournament in October, the Ice Wolves reached the Semi-Finals, losing only by one point. The team was gelling and we could see excellent things happening with passing and communication.

Keeping Together
-  November and December In the month of November the Ice Wolves played excellent hockey with some really fantastic teamwork and line match-ups being formed. The team was fully gelled and emerged as Champions in the second tournament of the year in Bradford!
Some great team social events added to the fun and camaraderie of the team. The third tournament in December the Ice Wolves reached the Semi-Finals again, and only lost by one point.
The month of December the team worked extremely hard to pull themselves from 8th to 6th place and into the top tier of  the league.   Persistence and perseverance, teamwork and communication were the messages from the coaching staff.

Working Together
– January to March The months of January and February the Ice Wolves focused on the development of EVERY PLAYER. This means everyone had opportunities to play equally, and everyone had the opportunities to grow their skills. And they did.
Each one of the players on the Ice Wolves team have developed.
All players have assisted in and scored goals, showing effort offensively and defensively.
Both goaltenders posted fantastic results and showcased some spectacular saves this season.
Every player helped create the opportunities for success.
Every player helped create moments of excellence and fun on the ice.
The Ice Wolves are not just one or two players strong – we are everyboy strong.
Every player worked hard to finish the season with a success.
THAT is our success this year: The boys improved in skill, and learned a great lesson in Teamwork.

Character of the Ice Wolves
-  These boys are a team that displays sportsmanship and general respect for our opponents and fellow hockey players. Many times this season, parents and coaches from other teams have expressed their gratitude for Wolves work ethic and classy style. This team takes representing Waterloo seriously. Another famous quote reminds us that: “To play the game is good, to win the game is better, but to love the game is the best of all.”
These boys just simply love to play, and it shows!
It shows when you can see them smiling while they are playing. It shows when they show up early for a long practice, so they can get out on some empty ice even earlier. It shows in how they treat each other, kindly and with laughter.
This is a team that works together, and has fun together - doing something they love to do.

At the beginning of the season the coaches expressed that they wanted to instill a love of the game in their team, so they don’t just focus on winning, but love the game itself and want to play it until they are old and grey.
=Success! They love the game and their team.

What a great season! What a great group of kids, coaches, and supportive parents.
