Novice Wild Wolves - Update #2
Since our last update, on October 8th, the Minor Novice Wild Wolves have accomplished a few more "firsts" including our first tournament - the Peterborough Thanksgiving Tournament, Oct 10-12.

Our 7 year-old boys got progressively better each game competing against 8 year-old teams from: Georgina, Kitchener, Peterborough and Newmarket. Although they lost their first 3 games: 9-1, 6-2 and 5-1, the Wild Wolves completed the round robin with a strong 3-2 win over Newmarket. A theme has been established: the boys compete and battle right to the final whistle.

(And let's face it - getting a day off school, hanging out at The Holiday Inn swimming pool, eating in restaurants, and completing an Amazing Race at the Peterborough Zoo wasn't too bad either)! Thanks again Coaches and Social Committee.

Meanwhile, since Thanksgiving, the Wild Wolves have had 4 league games and some really satisfying results. They include a 2-2 tie vs. the Cambridge Hawk's 7 year-old team, a 4-1 loss to a strong defensive 7 year-old Brantford 99ers team, as well as a fun battle vs. the Waterloo Mountain Wolves (a 4-2 loss) and a humbling, yet not discouraging game vs. a very strong group of 8 year-olds (disguised as 13 year-olds) from Woodstock.

There have been so many individual improvements and strong efforts for our entire group in the past 3 weeks that it would likely be unfair to single any one individual out. As the boys rotate through wing, centre and defence they've all done a great job of staying positive and trying to learn each position.

The coaching staff is as proud as the parent group as we watch the boys improve, compete, develop friendships, and have fun. Great season so far Wild Wolves - let's keep it going. Can't wait for the next game!
