Wolves finish 2nd at 2014 Peewee AA OHF Finals
The Major Peewee Gold boys rode the train to the last possible stop.

The Wolves reached the finals at the 2014 Peewee AA OHF Championship and lost a thrilling 2-1 Double Overtime game to the Champion Mississauga Jets.  The Wolves opened the tournament tying the #1 Ranked AA team in the province, the Barrie Colts 1-1.  The boys followed up with a 6-0 win over the NOHA champs from Nickel City.  Riding a little high from their successful first day, the Wolves laid an egg in their first game Saturday losing 4-1 to Alliance rival Woodstock.  The coaching staff challenged the boys to respond in their next game and they did not disappoint, this time tying the #2 ranked team in the province, the Mississauga Jets 4-4, earning a spot in the semis.

The great fans of the Waterloo Wolves saw an upset for the ages as the boys knocked off the #1 ranked Barrie Colts in the semis 3-2, setting up a rematch with the Mississauga Jets in the final.  The boys held a 1-0 lead into the 3rd until the Jets finally broke through with a PP goal.  The battle continued into a first and 2nd overtime before the Jets banged in a rebound to end the game.

The coaching staff is so proud of these 17 kids, who left it all on the ice.   Your dedication and commitment to the TEAM and each other brought you great success.

It was a pleasure to coach alongside Eric Lekun, Ryan Lawrence and Stu Conner as well as goalie coach Rich Hepditch.  Thanks also to Troy Schmidt for his managerial duties throughout the year.

Thanks to all the parents for their support for the staff and to your children throughout the year.
