3 on 3 Skills Competition

The league is mixing it up a bit this year One big change is all players are invited The other change is with the format of the competition itself. With the regular format for the skills competition, the boys seem to sit around for a long time for a 3 minute event, especially the goalies.
As a league, we have the ice for two hours so we will use it to play hockey.We have decided to have a series of 3 on 3 games. All players are invited.
The first thing we need to know is which players will be there. The time will be Tuesday. Dec 31 from 12:00 to 2:00pm
Please check your calendar and let the coach know if you can make it.
Once we have the list of players who will be there, Sean and I will make teams based on the rankings from the evaluations and the coaches’ opinions.
The ranking groups will be 1, 2, 3, 4.
We will mix up the teams and allow the boys to play with boys from other teams of equal ranking.
We will then have 3 on 3 games.
The boys will play games with other similarly ranked players (ex:. 1 against 1s, 2 against 2s etc. This will allow each player to compete with similarly skilled players.
3 0n 3 Awards
There will be trophies awarded as a result of the 3 on 3 play At least one boy from each ranking group will win a trophy During the 3 on 3 game play, judges will be determining from each group who will get the trophy
There are 6 Categories
Best Overall from players with the 1 ranking
Best Stick Handler from players with the 2 ranking
Fastest Skater from players with the 3 ranking
Best Defense from players with the 4 ranking
Best Shooter/Goal Scorer from players with the 4 ranking
Best Goalie - from all the goalies
The above may change as Sean and I have not completely worked this out yet. The bottom line is trophies will be given out to players who win the judges heart. Each ranking will have at least one trophy I do think this will be a lot of fun for the boys Please let you coach know if you will be able to make this fun day of 3 on 3 hockey
