DEAR VIC
Dear Vic.........

Well we made it to where we set our our goal this year. We are heading to the Alliance finals ! The coaches are very proud at how well the boys are playing as a team in this Alliance Tournament. We started out a little slow at first, which was expected because of the long lapse in ice time before this Tournament began, but the boys have really started to play like they did prior to our long break. We started the Tournament playing the London Nationals. The Nationals had us 2-0 in the 3rd with about 1:14 left when we were able to get the puck down deep and pull Jonathan out of the net for the extra attacker. We scored to come within 1 goal with 40 seconds left. We won the draw and were able to get the puck into there zone and get Jon out again and take the puck to the net which ended up finding the back of the net. Now with 20 seconds left the game was tied ! It was a great effort by the guys and they really turned it on in that last few minutes. The next game we played Cambridge and once again it was a typicla Waterloo, Cambridge battle ! We were able to secure a pretty good 4-1 lead, but then Cambridge scored to come within 1 goal. We were shorthanded quite a bit in the third period and the Hawks pressed very hard to try and score, but our great penalty killing prevailed and the score remained the same. Next up was the London Bandits. This was the team that we had played prior in the final game of our London Tournament so we knew they were going to be hungry for some revenge. We played a really strong defensive game allowing them only 10 shots and we were able to get 37 shots on their net, although we had alot of shots, their goaltending was really good at freezing the puck and not allowing any rebounds. As this made it difficult at times to score because we were driving the net so well, eventually we were able to find the back of the net and walk away with a 3 - 0 win. The boys have now earned a bye to the Finals tomorrow ! We play in Stratford at 10:40 am
Take Care Vic !
