Success in Preston
The Minor Atom MD Timber Wolves played in the Preston International Tournament this weekend opening with a shutout victory against the Belleville Jr Bulls.
The win gave the team 5 points to start the tournament. A loss in the afternoon to league nemesis Hamilton Tigers put the pressure on in the team's final round robin game against the Stratford Warriors. The Timber Wolves played one of their best games of the year dominating the offensive zone and protecting their own zone to secure another shutout win. It was a second shutout in three games for Aaron and Connor and with a shutout adding a point per game to our total it was that little extra needed to put us into the semi finals. Unfortunately the standings matched us up against the Hamilton Tigers again which proved to be a very difficult game; we eventually fell to the Tiger's attacking offence but a ranking of 4th place in a 12 team division was a very good result. Great job Timber Wolves.
