Waterloo Wolves 98 AAA - 1st Place in East
With 6 games remaining in the regular season, and the 98AAA squad sitting in 2nd Place, the goal was clear...Win out and finish 1st.
With a record of 4-0-1, coming into the final game vs. Cambridge met we needed a Win or a Tie to take over the 1st Place position.

Well, the game certainly didn't disappoint the fans.

Going down by 2 in the first, and tieing it back up in the second meant the 3rd was going to be interesting.
Shortly, in the 3rd the Hawks scored 2 goals, and the Wolves now needed to push the attack like never before, and chip away at the lead.

With approx. 7 mins remaining, and some good pressure, that call was answered, when Ryan Sparkes came out from the side of the net to score a beauty wrap!

The wolves could feel it....1 mins and 40 secs left in the game we pulled the goalie and where all over the Hawks tender. Bing was the sound, when Brendan Schneider hit the post (a sound he'll soon forget), and with more pressure mounting, Boris Katchouk was faced with an open net, but 2 players tying him up. (someone get him a pool cue)

Then it happened, on a clearing attempt by the Hawks the puck bounced on Dylan Lebold, and redirected into the corner, he chased it down, and met the hawks defender, and after a small battle got the puck out!
The pass was to the side of the net, where, Sam Cherry was waiting (he remembered what the coach said) shoot the puck at the net....and with 8 secs remaining that's exactly what he did...GOOOOOAL!

With the Tie, that seeded the 98AAA into 1st place! Congrat Boys, now let's have a strong showing in the Play-downs.
