Sweeping the Weekend Series Against Hamilton
The Minor Atom AAA Waterloo Wolves continued their strong play over the weekend defeating the Hamilton Huskies in a home and away series.  Hamilton is a good skating team and were the only undefeated team left in league play. The Wolves were able to maintain their strong hold on first place with 26 points, which is five more than the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs in the West.  The Wolves league record this year sits at a very impressive 12 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties.

In the games against Hamilton, the Huskies showed that if you weren't ready to skate hard all game, you were going to be challenged to come away with points.

The game on Saturday was a fabulous display of hockey by both teams with end-to-end action and a great deal of skill and speed demonstrated by both teams. The Huskies came out strong with good positional play and passing to take a 2-0 lead. The Wolves were undeterred and stormed back with 4 unanswered goals to claim a hard fought 4-2 victory paced by yet again strong goaltending by Marshall Nicholls. Goal scorers were defenceman Ryan McGeown, along with single goals coming from each of the three lines from Jake Thompson, Preston Young and Owen Parsons. Assists went to Jaxson Murray, Brayden Hislop, Cal Reesor and Kyle Maloney.

On Sunday, the game was also a close one with Waterloo holding on for a 2-1 victory. Once again, the staple of this year to date has been strong goaltending, which again was the case on Sunday with Misha Stastna who was stellar from start to finish.  Goal scorers were Spencer Young and Owen Parsons. Assists were earned by Cooper Way, Jaxson Murray, Brayden Hislop and Jacob Thompson.
