Atomc Red vs. Atomc Blue
Atomc Red's (1-1-0) second game of the weekend came against Atomc Blue (1-1-0).

The two teams had played each other very competitively the past two games, so going into the game Red knew it would be a battle.  The game proved to be just that, and both teams traded chances throughout the first period.  Neither team was able to capitalize though, and the period ended with the teams tied 0-0.

Red started the second period with a few more scoring chances of their own, but once again could not score.  That would prove costly as Blue finally broke the ice four minutes into the period.  They added another goal just a few shifts later to make the score 2-0.

Red never did quit though and continued to push hard.  They were rewarded early in the third period when Annett, Noble, and Horvath were able to score on a rebound after a beautiful rush.  After scoring to get back into the game, Red was able to take control of the game and generate plenty of chances to tie the game.  All three forward lines including Sothern, Smith, and Perry along with Paiva-Bernard, Wagner, and Kytola played with grit and heart for the remaining few minutes of the period.  They were unable to score though, and with the net empty Blue scored to put the game out of reach and make the final 3-1.

The defense pairings Kelly and Endres; Domerchie and Reeve; Hankins and Steffler played an exceptional game.  After Blue gained a two goal lead they were not only rock solid on the defensive end, but also helped the team generate offense by standing strong on the offensive blue line.

Storms also played a great game.  He made a few saves early in the third period that were particularly important, keeping the game within reach for Red.

Red's next game is March 3 against Atomc Gold (2-0-0).
