Waterloo Pee Wee Black Caps Off Successful Season With Series Win
Waterloo Black and Waterloo Gold faced off in the fifth game of the consolation final.  A win by Black would give them the series victory, a loss would mean a final showdown next week.

Black was a bit flat in this one after last night's impressive win but still carried much of the play.  Erik Larsson opened the scoring in the first for Black on a carbon copy goal of the one he scored in the previous game.  Larsson, standing at the top of the crease, banged in a feed from behind the net from Jacob McMahon who had made a rush into the offensive zone.  Black had many chances to extend the lead but could not capitalize on the  several power play opportunities.  Gold managed to tie the game at 1-1 early in the third when they found a loose puck in the crease.  Black regained the lead a few minutes later when Tyrell Brown jumped on a loose puck and fed a pass to Jeremy Nejadrasoul who was all alone in front of the net.  Nejadrasould beat the Gold goalie to make it 2-1 for Black.  Black soon found themselves with two players in the penalty box and Gold was able to tie the game when they got a lucky break on a dump in that eluded Brett Mclearon.  The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation and were headed for a five minute overtime.  Black had some good opportunities in OT but had trouble finding the net.  Gold had a great chance of breaking the deadlock late in overtime but the shot went off the cross bar.  The game ended in a 2-2 overtime draw which was enough to give Black the series victory.

A big thank you to the parents and players for making this such a successful season.
