TSN: Waterloo Minor Peewee MD Ice Wolves Advance to Semi Finals
Saturday Dec 3, 2011Burlington ON, (via TSN) The Burlington Bulldogs Minor Hockey Association today announced that the Waterloo Minor Peewee MD Ice Wolves have advanced to the Semi Finals of the 2011 Burlington Bulldogs MD Challenge Cup.

Waterloo is expected to meet the winner of the quarter final between Burlington Bulldogs and the Oakville Predators.  Waterloo's semi final game takes place at 9:00am on Sunday Dec 4th at Mainway Arena in Burlington. "The new lines are really starting to gel" Gery Hendel, Head Coach of the team said following Waterloos decisive 7- 2 win over the Oakridge Aero's.  "A few games back we decide to adjust the recipe on our forward lines, that chemistry change appears to be coming together well with all three lines producing scoring opportunities".  A slight tweak to the defence pairings also appears to have helped the Ice Wolves as defenceman Jakob Beacock was seen leaving the arena after the game with the Hot Thermometer award.  Mr. Beacock's strength on the puck, effective body checking and 4 point game set the tone for the Waterloo team to control most of the play.  "Jack Ronson and the rest of the D-group rounded out the strong blueline showing" Coach Hendel said. A couple of unfortunate goals marred an otherwise perfect game for Waterloo who expect to face some tougher competition in the Semi final and Championship games on Sunday. Ian Richardson, Assistant Coach of the Ice Wolves, told TSN press that "Ralph Klienschmidt was no longer welcome in their dressing room".  Pete Oliver and Blake Hendel, Ice Wolves trainers and assistant coaches, agreed with Richardson suggesting that "This team enters every race and has the skills and determination to go to the show". Tickets for Sunday's Semi and Finals are still available on Ticketmaster.
