Novice Timberwolves Finish the Season Strong
The Novice Timberwolves finished the season in strong fashion during the last two weekends of the season!!

The Novice Timberwolves were strong competitors in their last 4 games of the season.  They battled hard in every game and hit some real big milestones during that time.  The entire team played an extremely strong wire to wire battle against the always tough (first place at the time) Hamilton Cyclones and would only fall short at the end in a 6 to 4 loss.  They followed that one up with a whole team deserved 5 - 0 blanking of the physical Brantford 99 ers.  Entering their last weekend of the season they faced Kitchener Red.  This is a team that has seemed unbeatable at times but our boys were not about to go down without a fight.  After a tough start and a 0 -2 deficit the boys battled back and entered the third period down 3 - 2.  They fought hard and the mantra of "go to the net" paid off huge as the tying goal was scored with under 6 minutes to play.  The coaching staff called this one a 3 - 3 WIN beacause it was an amazing team effort against an always tough opponent.

The last game was againts our cross town rivals the Ice Wolves.  The game was close until the third when the opponent proved too tough and the TimberWolves ended with a 0 - 5 loss.

Not to be deterred though, the mood was jovial in the dressing room as the entire team moved to a nice loud meal at East Side Marios, and they are now looking forward to the end of the year banquet and one more team event.

On behalf of the coaching staff I would like to say it was an enjoyable honour to have spent this season with a group of players that were such a joy to be around.  We watched them develop a ton both on and off the ice.  Many smiles, a few tears, but always laughter and some crazy dressing room dances close by.   There are many memories to be taken with us and we look forward to more of them in the near future.
