TimberWolves Turnaround - "Whatever it Takes"
This weekend the TimberWolves returned to their winning ways with a hard fought home game against Burlington. Looking to build on their battle with our brothers the Ice Wolves the day before and looking to turn the tide on a tough Burlington team, the boys rallied around each other and fed off that collective energy to produce a battle filled win.
The message before the game of "Win every battle" and "Protect our House" was met as a head on challenge by the players. They were on fire in warmup and were every bit ready to go as the game started. The boys controlled the faceoffs and scored a couple of goals as a direct result. The breakouts were solid and the shots were flying at the Burlington net. With the score back and forth through out the game and the teams only separtated by one goal at best thoughout, you knew that this one would come down to the wire and sure enough it did. Using an early season patented "never give up" approach, the boys pressed on and were rewarded with a winning goal at 15 seconds remaining. Final score was 5 to 4. Special mention to the D -men this weekend as they have collectively stepped their game up and are making the crisp passes, shutting down the oppostion in the neutral area and letting the other teams know that nothing will be easy in our zone. They also provided a couple of offensive rushes that added to our arsenal of weapons this weekend.
