ICE WOLVES ARE BACK!!!!
(by Greg Brown) Showing the energy and discipline that had
gone missing the past few games, the Waterloo Ice Wolves played a fantastic
game Feb 11 against the Waterloo Timber Wolves from start to finish.
The Ice Wolves showed crisp passing, hard work on the offensive boards and great back checking in a hard-earned 1-0 victory.
Mischa Stastna was stellar in net, earning the shut out win in stopping every shot he faced. Although the score showed a defensive game, it was the forwards of the Ice Wolves that stood out, applying pressure offensively and keeping the puck in the oppositions end. The passing and skating was kept at a high level all game, resulting in lots of pressure and opportunities on offense.
The single goal was scored by Jonnie Dinner, who took a passing gem from Michael Rintchie who had just broken away from center and carried the puck through most of the opposing teams defense. Rintchie, Dinner and Easton Schnarr provided some spectacular passing in the game, while defensemen Kaden Washkurak and Jake Anderson provided solid back stopping on the blue line, keeping the puck out of the opposition’s hands.
