The Waterloo Minor Atom Select Wolves made an
early exit from the Byron Optimist tournament in London over the weekend,
finishing with a 0-2-1 record after the first round of play.
The Wolves opened the event with an exciting end-to-end match against the Milton Winterhawks. But even with numerous power-play opportunities in the third period, the Wolves couldn’t break the 2-2 tie.
After a lacklustre 3-0 loss to the George Bell Titans in game #2, the Wolves showed energy and determination in game #3 against the Brampton Sharpshooters. Despite the resulting 6-2 loss, the Wolves were proud of their team effort against the Sharpshooters, who eventually won the tournament title.
Wolves goal scorers at the event were Aidan Krueger (3) and Liam Fast. Assists went to Jeremy Chowen and Johnathon Mayer.
