The Major Peewee Select Team will be holding a Food Drive for the The Food Bank of Waterloo Region during the House League Christmas Tournament and they need your help!Right now, 1 in 20 households in our community are struggling to put food on the table and a third of those going hungry are children. Food donations increase during the holiday season but donations into the new year are always needed.
Currently the most needed items include:
- canned fruit
- stew, chili and soup
- beans in sauce
- hot and cold cereal
- canned meat and fish
- pasta sauce
- dry beans
- rice
- peanut butter
- canned vegetables
Cash donations are also accepted - every dollar donated provides 3 healthy meals for a hungry family.
The players will have a table set up in the lobby of RIM and will happily accept your donations during the following times;
Friday Dec 27 1pm - 4pm
Saturday Dec 28 11am - 2pm
Sunday Dec 29 10am - 1pm
