Season Started
The Thanksgiving weekend kicked off the start of the Major Peewee Hockey Season

Hello everyone,

Just a couple housekeeping notes I would like to make sure everyone is aware of before the start of the season:

  1. With fewer players per team this year, your coach would really appreciate you letting them know as soon as you can if your son is unable to make any ice time. We do allow call-ups, but it does take time to arrange.  Please show up at least 20 to 30 minutes prior to game time.  This will allow the coach to figure out numbers and make arrangements if needed.
  2. Thank you to the volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and trainers for each team.  We are lucky to have such a great group.  If you have any questions or concerns about your son or the team, your coach should be  able to provide an answer. If you need further information feel free to Email me.
  3. SHIFT and WMHA set up two weekends of concussion management and return to play guidelines which are mandatory for coaches and trainers and is open to all parents and players.  There should be additional time set up by WMHA for those who were unable to take advantage of these sessions in the summer. Once I have details, I will post on our site.
  4. Make note of the Christmas Tournament dates and house League Championships.  These are the two local tournaments that all teams are enrolled in.  Please plan to attend.  If you know that you can’t make these dates work, please let your coach know so he can make other arrangements.
    5.  If your child would like extra training outside of house league hockey, there are many different opportunities
for them. Skills Plus Hockey is a sponsor of WMHA, so I have included their information:

Please note: the Goaltending / Goal Scoring Training program is on Wednesday.

We are all looking forward to an exciting season. Remember to continually check the schedule and the 'Latest News' regularly.
