Some people say being the convener is a thankless job.
I must say that many people have approached Sean and I to thank us for our efforts this year. Thank you for your kind words.
The league was vey fair and any team could win each game. This was due in large part to the evaluation of the players that the coaches did and all their efforts in the drafting process.
Also, the boys really enjoyed the season. That is due to the commitment of the parents and keeping the right perspective for the boys.
Finally, this league does not happen by itself. All the effort behind the scenes really makes a difference. The online calendar and schedule and results really keep it interesting. Teams were allowed to play “out of market games” and the schedules were revised. Thanks to Lori, Rose and Linda for keeping it all together.
This was such a great experience for me that I have put my name into the hat to be convenor and coach again next season.
I hope to see everyone back again for more hockey next year.

PS If your team is in the Fun Festival, keep in mind there is also a volleyball tournament going on at RIM. Leave extra time for parking this weekend.
