Our "19th Man" - Anthony
Below is a letter we received from Glenn Pascoe, Executive Director of local charity "One4Another". One4Another's primary focus is providing life-changing surgeries for children in Uganda who would never be able to afford it without outside help. Waterloo hockey players have been helping out through the 18th Man Project for several years. Glenn writes to introduce us to our "19th Man" for the 2020-21 season.

Hi Waterloo Wolves U15 MD Black team,

I'd like to introduce you to your 19th Man for this season!  He is 14 years old and his name is Anthony.

Anthony is one of 8 kids and lives with both parents in Uganda.  He was born with a right clubfoot and, due to lack of funds, his parents have not been able to have his foot corrected.  He can stand and walk but with difficulty.  Almost everything about his life is challenging already without also having to deal with a disability.  His family lives a peasant lifestyle which means they survive off of what they can grow in their garden and live day by day.

This is why it is so exciting that your team is willing to take him on and get his foot straightened so that he can walk without pain.  He has been on our waiting list for almost one year.  We look forward to giving him the news!

Gratefully,
Glenn
