Wolves vs Hawks
It was a great game Sunday night as two teams came out to play hockey. With their first game in the playoffs, both teams were eager to score two points, but only one would succeed.

It was a tight first period. Cambridge came out early on the attack with the first shot on net; however, Waterloo's goalie, #31 Bernier, was remarkable in net. Quick thinking, fast reflexes and great positioning allowed Bernier to make some amazing saves throughout the entire game. The Wolves defence was aggressive this evening; going after the player, stripping the puck and eliminating shot opportunities. The Hawk squad would not be deterred and kept aiming and finally found the net late in the first period. This fuelled Waterloo Black, and early in the second period, #10 Jyrkama, fed a beautiful pass to #10 Williams who was persistent and accurate with his shot for the first goal for the home team. This however, would be our only goal of the night. Not for lack of trying. Both forwards and defence took many shots on net, but the Cambridge goalie kept their team in the game with some great glove saves. Both teams should be proud of the game they played. The ability and effort displayed proved that both Waterloo Wolves Black and Cambridge Hawks are well placed in Tier 1. The game really could have gone either way; however, the final score was a close 2-1 for Cambridge.
