Positive Finish to the Weekend
Well, it wasn't the end result the Wolves were looking for, but the team played a great weekend of hockey and found themselves in the final against Kitchener Jr. Rangers Red. Waterloo put in a solid effort in the last game of the tournament but just couldn't slip the puck past the Kitchener goalie.

As mentioned, the Wolves played some great hockey this weekend. Several players were recognized for their outstanding skill, positive attitude and change making efforts on the ice. #19, Bosomworth was amazing; quick to react, pushing past the defence to get into the zone for scoring opportunities. #7 Williams, set up for some great plays, with sharp on target passes and low shots on net. #10, Jyrkama, chased down the puck and positioned himself well in front of the net to receive the quick pass and make the equally quick shot. Labrie, #27 was solid all around. He hustled to backcheck, stripping the puck many times from the opponents, removing their chance to score, while also supporting our defence in our zone. Hancock, #2 played with grit and determination. He set up for some great plays, passing the puck well during the power play set-up and positioning himself well for some attempts on net. And Miller #3, was as feisty as ever; going after the puck, digging in front of the net, and lifting sticks and putting a body on the man in our zone to help keep our defence alive. Waterloo's goalies had a fantastic weekend as well. Some amazing saves, at all right times, to keep the Wolves chances alive to make it to the finals. Both Bernier and Obermayer manage to keep calm under pressure, demonstrating great talent and maturity in their role as team goalies. All the players should be proud of their efforts this weekend. You all demonstrated respect for the game of hockey. You won and lost with grace and dignity. Coaches and players from other teams commented on this on more then one occasion. Your coaches are not only proud of how you played but also proud of who you are as players. Well done Wolves!
