The Waterloo Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) is gearing up for another fantastic season of development, community, and fun on the ice!
We are excited to share updates about our
Initiation (U6–U8) Program and introduce the
House League Convenors who will help lead our players and families this season.
🌟 Initiation (U6–U8) Program
Our Initiation Program is the foundation of hockey in Waterloo, designed to give our youngest players the skills, confidence, and love for the game that will last a lifetime.

U6 (2020/21 birth year): Focused on fun, skating fundamentals, and team play.

U7 (2019 birth year): Skill development, small-area games, and early hockey concepts.

U8 (2018 birth year): Preparing players for full-ice hockey with an emphasis on teamwork, positioning, and skill growth.
Whether your child is stepping on the ice for the first time or continuing their hockey journey, the WMHA Initiation Program is where the magic begins.

HL (U9 - U18) Program
House League is at the heart of WMHA, giving players a chance to enjoy competitive but fun hockey with friends and teammates. Convenors play a vital role in organizing, supporting families, and ensuring our players have a positive experience.
