Pre-Tyke Evaluations
Hello everyone

First of all, I would like to start by welcoming your child and your family to the Pre-Tyke Division.  It promises to be a very exciting season with the chance for the kids to try the goalie position (goalie equipment will be provided), introduction of exhibition games against other centers, playing a mini-game during an intermission at a Kitchener Rangers game, and most importantly the opportunity to meet new friends and have fun!

I would like to give you a brief overview of how the evaluations will work.  On Saturday, Sept 17th, your child's scheduled ice time will be based on the first letter of their last name: A-G at 10:00am, H-O at 11:00am and P-Z at 12:00pm.  Please go directly to the registration desk when you arrive so that we can assign a pinnie for your child to wear on the ice.  Evaluations will be done for each ice time.

Once the Sept 17th evaluations are complete, your child will be placed into a group: 1, 2 or 3.  You will receive an email from me on Saturday evening/night indicating the group that your child is in.  The ice times for Sunday, Sept 18th and Saturday, Sept 24th will be based on the group number (1, 2 or 3), not on the first letter of their last name.  Evaluations will continue for these ice times (NOTE: there may still be some movement of the kids between the 3 groups prior to the Sept 24th ice time).

After the final ice time on Saturday, Sept 24th your child will be assigned to a team: Hornets, Stingers or Wasps.  You will receive an email from me indicating which team your child is on.  The first scheduled ice time for all teams is on Friday, Sept 30th.

Now here is where your help is needed.  I am looking for volunteers to be at the registration desk for each ice time, for each of the 3 evaluation days.  You will be required to be there about 30 min prior to your child's ice time and only need to stay until the start of your child's ice time so that you are not missing any of the action.  We also need on-ice helpers (assisting the head instructor and kids on the ice) and off-ice evaluators (rating the kids on various hockey skills) for each ice time, for each of the 3 evaluation days (NOTE: if you are available to do the off-ice evaluations for the full 3 hours that would be a bonus as it would allow for consistent evaluations for all 3 ice times).

If you are interested in helping out with any of above roles please send me an email.  I would encourage you to volunteer where possible as I cannot do this alone.  The more help I have the more successful the evaluations/season will be.

If you have any questions regarding the evaluations or anything else regarding the season, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to working with you and your child this season.

Thank you

Daryl
