Wolves Take Over Buffalo
This past weekend the team traveled to Buffalo for the Harbor Center Cup for some great hockey & team bonding. Some players even made friends with Griffin the Mascot

The players ramped up their compete level against some good competition as well as enjoyed some exciting activities.  On Friday night the team had the excitement of attending an NCAA hockey game where they were treated to a dressing room tour after a plentiful meal of chicken wings and pizza.  This was well deserved a successful day which saw the Wolves go 2 and 0 over the Clarence Mustangs and the Rochester Grizzlies.
After a good nights rest the Wolves headed back to game action on Saturday morning where they would face a tough opponent in the Syracuse Nationals for an 8.15 puck drop. After a tough battle with Syracuse (3-3 tie) the team headed to the Key Bank Arena to watch the Buffalo Sabres Game Day Skate.  The parents, coaches and players alike were in awe of the speed and skill level up close. Lots of players where hopeful for a souvenir stick, hover patience paid off for Burgzy as Sam (Sonny) Reinhart called him over for the passing of the stick.  Burgzy was in his glory, he even carried that momentum on to the next game.  After the Pre Game the Wolves were waiting to seen who the next opponent would be... Yet we got the rematch with Syracuse in the quarter finals.
After a disappointing loss in the Quarter Finals the team quickly put that aside to continue their exciting weekend as they had the chance to attend an NHL game featuring none other than Sydney Crosby and the Stanley Cup Champions taking on the Buffalo Sabres. The game had everything for the Wolves as they witnessed plenty of milestones in the game. A linesman marking his 1500th game, a 1st NHL goal for a Sabres rookie and the big one was Sydney's tying goal late in the game which was also his 350th NHL career goal. The game even went to a shoot.  As one coach said the kids had the opportunity to see everything in that game.
A big thank you to Ed and the coaches for setting up the activities away from the rink for the team.  I know the parents, players and siblings sure enjoyed themselves with some great team bonding a successful trip to BuffaloBand_Member.jpgBand_Member.jpgBuffalo_Practice.jpgDressing_Room_tour.pngIMG_0533.JPGMascot.jpgEvander_Kane.jpg
