Two Week Round Up
Missing some key personnel to illness, injury and suspension, the Wolves limped to a 0-2-1 record, with losses to Kitchener (Oct.30) Huron Perth (Nov.02) and a
tie at home to Brantford (Nov.01).

A change of scenery is just what the hockey doctor ordered. The Big Nickel Tournament in Sudbury (Nov.06-09) quickly changed Waterloo's fortunes. With a full line-up, Waterloo had round robin wins against two of the favourited teams, the Timmins Eagles & host Nickel City Sons as well as CIH Academy, their only defeat was one goal loss to Grey Bruce.

In the quarter finals, the Wolves avenged their loss to Grey Bruce with a full team, workman like, effort and a 4-1 win. The semi-finals featured Waterloo vs Timmins for another thrilling game. The Wolves continued the same work ethic for approximately 2 and a half periods with the boys carrying a 3-0 lead down the home stretch of the third. Sadly, Timmins chipped away at the lead and tied the game before the end of regulation.

Overtime featured a fantastic Waterloo penalty kill, scoring chances at both ends, but no winner. Shoot out. The two teams put on a great show of goals, saves and steady nerves. After 9 shooters the Eagles won.

The Sudbury weekend showed what this team is made of. Congrats to the boys for a great show and exemplery behaviour both at the rink and hotel.

Full team effort:

Goalies: Nathan Torchia, Briten Marcell
Defence: Zach Edwards, Tyler McBay, Nate George, Mason Hardy, Tristan DeJong, Justin Zuber
Forwards: Ethan McTavish, Kolton Mooney, Chris Playfair, Parker Casey, Mitch Hoelscher, Thomas Dunbar, Darcy Winkler, Spencer Kersten, Grant Ramsay

Congratulations as well to McBay & Playfair who were named to the tournament All Star squad. Playfair also shared top spot in overall points scored for the tournament.
